Om Mani Padme Hum

The Lord gave us a very special mantra. A mantra is a prayer, or some call it a meditation chant. People who do this prayer learn a lot about life, and about being a good Wayist. The lessons can take a lifetime to learn and they are different for each person. Some people say when you do this prayer, the Lord comes to you and spends time with your soul just so He can teach you something new.

This prayer chant is OM MANI PADME HUM

What does Om Mani Padme Hum mean?

The four words of this prayer is from the ancient holy language called Sanskrit. Sanskrit is called "holy language" because it is not used for any purpose other than to write religious things. Nobody ever wayist-tanghka-thangka-guardian-of-souls
spoke Sanskrit in every day life, it was always used only for holy things.

Most people agree that the simple meaning of the prays is, "the jewel (of wisdom) is in the lotus".

Wayists know that anyone who possesses the "jewel" of true wisdom has learned true humility, simplicity an compassion ~ and that person will be transformed into a spiritual being. In some statues and pauba of the Lord, He is seen guardian the jewel of wisdom in His hands. This is because the Lord vowed to never let the Truth be covered up and taken away from the poor and suffering people on earth as it happened in the past. There were times in human history when religions hid the Truth from the poor and people who could not read, just so they could take their money.

In this teaching, the Lord says, we can learn all that we need to become perfected spiritual beings simply by learning from the lotus plant.

To learn all about the Lotus plant and the things that make it special for us can take a lifetime. However, the short teaching is that the plant gives more than it takes. The plant serves creation and creatures of all kinds and asks but very little in return. In fact, the plant gets its food from the mud in the river or pond and even while it takes food it purifies the water to benefit the other creatures down there. There is much more to learn about this ~ yes, you will learn from the lotus lily for the rest of your life.

Whenever the Lord is shown in a picture or statue, we must always remember that the picture is nor really what the Lord looks like--the Lord is a spiritual being and we cannot show that in a picture, it is not possible. We can feel the Lord in our hearts, and we can speak to the Lord, but we cannot make a picture. But, we use pictures to help us meditate and to remind us of teaching.

In this picture that Wayists call, the Guardian of Souls, we see the Lord guarding the jewel of Truth in His hands. We also see the symbol of the newborn human spirit, the butterfly on the Lord's right side, on his hand. And then there is the lotus. The Lord is almost always shown in pictures sitting on a lotus flower, and holding a lotus flower. The colour of lotus flower that people always use for the Lord Avalokitesvara is this "dusty-rose" colour. If you see a picture of someone that looks like our Lord but it has a different color lotus, then it may be Tara or someone else in the picture. Also, in this picture you see the Wayist symbol, mandala, behind the Lord. And, on top of the picture is written the Lord's mantra in two different languages.

In Sanskrit, the mantra OM MANI PADME HUM is written like this:

 ॐ मणिपद्मे हूं

In Tibetan-style Sanskrit text, the prayer OM MANI PADME HUM is written like this:

 ཨོཾ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྃ

In Chinese, the mantra OM MANI PADME HUM looks like this:

 唵嘛呢叭咪吽

Hear some children sing the mantra of the Lord.

You can also do it, it is easy to chant the mantra of the Lord.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
